Wednesday, 21st of November 2012, was a special time, because WGS hosted the 3rd Industrial Visit from UDINUS Semarang. This time was was special because. There were 60 student participants from the UDINUSÔÇÖ Department of Informatics.
According to Mr. Acib, as the Trustee of UDINUS, their visit this time focusing on to provide the participants with insight and employment experience, especially to those in the final year, thus presenting an idea of the working-world after graduation.
WGS representative Mr. Chalid (CHRO) welcomed the arrival of the guests of UDINUS Semarang. Mr. Chalid gave the welcome speech by introducing the WGS history and working culture. Not long after that, followed by Mr. Bonar deliver a presentation about Ruby on Rails, the programming language used in the company. The participants were attentively enthusiastic, making sure that nothing was missed.
While they were handed out snacks, the Q&A session begins. One of their alumni, who already started working at WGS, shared his experience of how and when he began his initial internship at WGS, to the day he was signed to work in WGS.
At the end of the session, Mr Chalid received a souvenir from UDINUS Semarang. He stated that this industrial visit was one of WGSÔÇÖ efforts in supporting the socialization of employment situation to students in Indonesia. In addition, he also explained that WGS has established further cooperation with between UDINUS Semarang. Primarily it started with co-operation in the form of industrial visit, now has continued with internship; providing the opportunity for students to do practical work in the real field. Perhaps, they could continue by becoming a part of the WGS family after that.
